چکیده
In this paper, we study a free boundary problem for compressible spherically symmetric Navier-Stokes equations without a solid core. Under certain assumptions imposed on the initial data, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, give some uniform bounds (with respect to time) of the solution and show that it converges to a stationary one as time tends to infinity. Moreover, we obtain the stabilization rate estimates of exponential type in L∞-norm and weighted H-norm of the solution by constructing some Lyapunov functionals. The results show that such system is stable under the small perturbations, and could be applied to the astrophysics.

Global Solutions to the Spherically Symmetric Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations with Density-Dependent Viscosity
We consider the exterior problem and the initial boundary value problem for the spherically symmetric isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity coefficient in this paper. For regular initial density, we show that there exists a unique global strong solution to the exterior problem or the initial boundary value problem, respectively. In particular, the stro...

متن کاملAxi-symmetric Stagnation–Point Flow and Heat Transfer Obliquely Impinging on a Rotating Circular Cylinder
Laminar stagnation flow, axi-symmetrically yet obliquely impinging on a rotating circular cylinder, as well as its heat transfer is formulated as an exact solution of the Navier-Stokes equations. Rotational velocity of the cylinder is time-dependent while the surface transpiration is uniform and steady. The impinging stream is composed of a rotational axial flow superposed onto irrotational rad...
متن کاملViscosity in spherically symmetric accretion
The influence of viscosity on the flow behaviour in spherically symmetric accretion, has been studied here. The governing equation chosen has been the Navier-Stokes equation. It has been found that at least for the transonic solution, viscosity acts as a mechanism that detracts from the effectiveness of gravity. This has been conjectured to set up a limiting scale of length for gravity to effec...
متن کاملGlobal solutions of compressible Navier–Stokes equations with a density–dependent viscosity coefficient
We prove the global existence and uniqueness of the classical (weak) solution for the 2D or 3D compressible Navier–Stokes equations with a density–dependent viscosity coefficient (λ = λ(ρ)). Initial data and solutions are only small in the energy-norm. We also give a description of the large time behavior of the solution. Then, we study the propagation of singularities in solutions. We obtain t...
